Individual Adult Psychotherapy - $120 per 50-minute session

Helping individuals work through a wide variety of possible problems, from mood anxiety disorders to problems making life decisions. Everyone at some point in his or her life can use an objective third party to help work through problems, even if simply to have someone to bounce ideas around with. Although I work with both men and women, I specialize in helping men feel comfortable and productive in therapy without feeling attacked or emasculated.

Individual Adolescent Psychotherapy (Ages 13-18) - $120 per 50-minute session

Teens, especially boys, are often reluctant to come to therapy, often because they are being made to come by their parents. Even when teens want therapy, it can be difficulty for them to connect to a therapist. I work with teens and their parents to create a therapeutic environment that is both welcoming and productive. I find ways to engage teens, helping them to identify the ways that they could benefit from therapy while addressing the issues their parents are concerned about.

Couples/Marital Therapy - $120 per 50-minute session

Relationships are difficult. Individuals working together to run a household, raise a family, and plan for the future can be challenging enough, which is why many couples "drift apart" and encounter difficulty growing and maintaining an identity outside that of the family and household. And that's before they even think about the complications that can arise around the sexual relationship. Couples therapy works to get couples back on the same track, taking care of the business of the family while remaining emotionally, ideologically, and sexually connected.

Premarital Counseling Package - $350; includes psychometric instrumentation and three 50-minute sessions.

This is a great option for couples who plan to get married but do not have any active or known relational issues. Although the only true preparation for marriage is marriage itself, this package helps couples identify potential pitfalls they may encounter and connects them with the skills and tools to manage whatever stressors and challenges marital life will almost certainly throw at them. This is a prescribed package and can fulfill the premarital counseling requirements for many priests, pastors, and church.
(For couples who have active, known issues to address, I would suggest traditional couples therapy instead of the Premarital Counseling Package. Please contact me if you have any questions.)

Supervision for LMFT Associates (TX) and/or LPC Associates (TX) - $90 per 50-minute individual supervision session; $35 per group supervision session

As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, a Texas Board-Approved LPC and LMFT supervisor, I love working with new clinicians develop their unique therapeutic vision and style. Because of the legal and ethical liability, however, I will agree to work with new supervisees only if I believe that we would be a good fit. Therefore, I require an application and interview process before I will agree to supervise. I also provide group supervision for all of my supervisees at a reduced rate.
(By selective application and interview only. If interested, please contact me for more information.)

Soft Skills Training in Business Settings - Contact for prices and availability

The Problem: Managers are frequently put in their positions because of the way they can manage a process and deliver a desired outcome for the company. Managing other people, however, requires soft relational skills when working with direct reports to motivate, educate, and correct. Unfortunately, most managers are not prepared for the diplomatic and emotional mazes that accompany these positions. Managers must serve many roles to many people in different positions, and choosing the precise words with the precise tone in the right time and setting can be a daunting task, especially when giving difficult feedback to direct reports.

The Solution: I can provide companies with training for managers in soft skills needed for effective management of personnel. I also provide the opportunity for one-on-one consultations to facilitate better interactions between managers and their direct reports. This reasonably leads to more effective communication, more efficient time management, and a more harmonious working environment.

Public Speaking - Contact for prices and availability.

I often speak on various topics to both clinical and lay populations. I love speaking to church groups, youth/school groups, professional groups, or any other groups of individuals who are eager to improve their practices, their relationships, and their lives. I am not an expert in any area, but if you have a specific request, please feel to let me know, and I will decide if I think it would be appropriate to speak on the issue.

Past topics for professional populations have included "Using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with Clients with Personality Disorders", "The Practice of Premarital Counseling", "Current Legislative Issues Affecting Clinicians", "Psychotherapeutic Documentation", "Boundary Issues Within the Mental Health Field", and “Helping Supervisees Grow Their Theoretical Orientation.”

Past topics for lay populations have included "Parenting in an Age of Social Media", "Learning to Identify and Solve Family Problems Before They Start", "Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages", "Avoiding the Extremes of Parenting", and "Restarting Your Sex Life (Couples Only)", and “Sound Relationships: Deloping Meaningful Connections without Destructive Pitfalls.“

Practice Consultation - Contact for prices and availability.

Setting up your own practice can be very challenging. We are trained to be good clinicians, but running a successful practice takes many more skills beyond those that exist in the therapy room. And anticipating all of the nuances of ethics, accounting, and insurance can be especially daunting. The field is changing. The DSM 5, the Affordable Care Act, stricter privacy laws, and other changes in the field of mental health practice challenge even the most attuned therapist's ability to properly manage a practice without becoming at risk for lost revenue and even ethical or legal violations. I use my experience in the academic, not-for-profit, and private practice sectors to help you identify and solve potential problems as you establish or maintain your practice.
